James Nam

Director/Principal Physiotherapist
James is an established Physiotherapist and business owner in the North Shore. He graduated with both Bachelor and Master's degree from The University of Sydney. Upon graduation he started off his career completing an internship at Royal North Shore Hospital. Since then he has worked in a variety of settings over the years being involved in Sports, private practice, corporate Physiotherapy within Westpac Banking corporation and mentoring University students prior to establishing Physio Room Pymble in 2016. His vast array of experience and exposure within the field has helped him gain insight into how to best implement what he has learnt into best practice.
James's clinical interest includes complex and chronic pain management. His understanding of the human body goes well above and beyond just the area of pain. He is passionate about problem solving and finding the root cause of the issues, identifying, prioritising problems to come up with a long term plan and solution. James likes exploring the biopyschosocial (the biology, psychology and social aspects of a human) model and its complex connection to pain and dysfunction. His holistic approach and hands on manual therapy techniques mastered over many years has helped his patients recover and feel long lasting relief. James is a true believer in empowering his patients to take control of their condition/injury and life.
James grew up in the North shore and lives locally. He firmly believes being part of the community is an essential part of Physio Room's existence. James was a competitive athlete growing up having rowed and played Rugby Union at a representative level playing for Sydney University whilst completing his University studies. Since hanging up his boots he has been practicing Brazilian Jiu-jitsu over a decade in which he currently holds a Black belt.

Kristen Ni
B.Physiotherapy APAM
Physiotherapist/DMA certified Pilates Instructor
Kristen is a registered physiotherapist who completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Australian Catholic University. Kristen has a particular interest in musculoskeletal issues, dry needling, hypermobility, and Clinical exercise programs. Kristen has completed further training in Clinical Pilates with Dance Medicine Australia (DMA) and is a certified instructor. She is also trained as a Level 2 PD warrior instructor delivering tailored exercise prescription for people with Parkinsons Disease to drive neuroplastic changes.
Taking a holistic approach, Kristen enjoys building connections with her patients and seeks to collaborate with them to achieve their goals. She is passionate about empowering and educating them on their journey to recovery, and uses evidence-based practice to provide individualised treatment plans.
During her downtime, Kristen likes running and gymnastics. On the weekend, you’ll find her exploring the best new eateries or watching her favourite movies and TV shows.

Alex Chan
Master of Physiotherapy

Physiotherapist/ Clinical Pilates Instructor
Alex is a registered physiotherapist who completed a Master of Physiotherapy degree at The University of Sydney on the background of Kinesiology and Food & Nutritional Science at The University of Hong Kong. He has been working in private physiotherapy practices since his graduation and has collaborated with clients from everyday individuals to athletes across multiple different disciplines.
With a strong passion in the fields of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, Alex delivers evidence-based care that tailors to each client’s unique needs, and provides individualised treatment plans to ensure a well-rounded recovery for every client. By carrying out holistic clinical assessments, Alex strives to explore the root causes of pain and allows clients to understand the full picture of their injuries. By having a strong enthusiasm for using manual therapy and exercise-based rehabilitation approaches, he is passionate to empower his clients to feel better and move better when they walk out of the clinic.
Being born and raised in Hong Kong, Alex is able to speak fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin. In the past, he participated in international bowling tournaments and oversea championships as a student athlete. Outside of professional work, you may find him in the finest coffee shops in Sydney enjoying his flat white.

TB Dang
B.App.Sci (EXSS) Doctorate of Physiotherapy
Senior Physiotherapist/Clinical Pilates Instructor
TB completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Sport & Exercise Science) at University of Western Sydney, and then went on to complete his Doctor of Physiotherapy degree at Macquarie University in 2015.
He has since worked in a range of physiotherapy settings in multiple private practices and hospitals across Sydney. He also has experience being a clinical educator, responsible for training and mentoring new graduate physiotherapists.
Through his exposure to various physiotherapy settings, he developed a passion for musculoskeletal physiotherapy. TB has a special interest in managing more chronic and complex conditions using his keen eye for detecting abnormal movement patterns. He understands that pain can often develop secondary to a dysfunction or impairment arising elsewhere.
His experience in the hospital setting has allowed TB to integrate a holistic approach to his patients in private practice - with great success in helping patients to not only recover, but escape recurrent pain/injury and avoid surgery.
He is an exceptional manual therapist and loves to incorporate manual therapy and dry needling as part of his treatments. He has a strong background in exercise prescription and teaching clinical Pilates.
TB is a big advocate for living a healthy lifestyle and practicing what you preach. He enjoys doing calisthenics, yoga, and Pilates every week to maintain his strength and mobility. He also enjoys going to the gym, cycling, and skateboarding. His favourite exercise involves taking his dog Luffy on little adventures!

Liz Hector
B.App.Sci. (EXSS) M.Phty.
Senior Physiotherapist/Clinical Pilates instructor
Liz is an experienced Physiotherapist and has enjoyed many years in Health. She has been involved in Research, Clinical Practice, Medical Education and Surgery which has given her a unique understanding of the Human body. Liz has been fortunate enough to work with many Experts over the years and has integrated these diverse experiences into her own practice.
Liz holds a Bachelor of Exercise & Sport Science and a Masters in Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney. She has also undertaken a research thesis into Respiratory Medicine through Royal Prince Alfred Hospital which was published in 2005.
Liz has worked for many years in Private Practice treating a diverse range of patients and has also enjoyed many great seasons supporting Sporting Teams in the local area. As a former Personal Trainer, Liz has a keen interest in Exercise Rehabilitation, in particular the power of Clinical Pilates. Liz has gone on to study several developmental courses in the Pilates field and is a huge advocate for progressive movement and mobility in order to keep ourselves firing the best way we can!
Over the years, Liz has embraced a Holistic Approach to management and believes in the innate wisdom of the body. The key is finding what works for each unique person – like a lock and key, the ideal combination will set you up for optimal healing and long-lasting good health. Liz has learnt what this looks like for her and practices a combination of Pilates, Walking, Meditation and good Nutrition to keep her healthy, happy and balanced.

Min Chew

Min is an Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) from Curtin University and a Master of Physiotherapy (Musculoskeletal) from the University of Queensland. She has been working in private Physiotherapy since moving to Australia from Singapore and has extensive experience working with a variety of clients and conditions. Min believes in looking at people with a holistic view and individualising Physiotherapy management. She is passionate about helping her clients achieve their goals by working with them as a team.
Min is currently doing research part time completing her PhD at Macquarie University into Hypermobility and associated connective tissue conditions, which is her special interest. Out of work and Uni, she loves going out for bushwalks, geocaching and playing board or computer games with family and friends.

Phillip de Mestre

Senior Sports Podiatrist
Phil has gained a reputation as the go-to sports podiatrist in Sydney. His extensive clinical experience, combined with his sporting achievements, gives him all the tools to help adults and children achieve their physical best. Phil has a special interest in paediatric care and running related injuries. He can help with heel pain, severs, hypermobility, tendon pain, orthotic therapy, strength programs, running technique and more.
These days, Phil is a busy dad, balancing raising three young children with his running and professional career. Although he’s not shooting for a marathon PB right now, his life experience has helped him develop an understanding for time-poor patients. This helps him develop a realistic treatment plan that takes into account time and goals.
When he’s not in the clinic or running, you’ll catch him at the beach with his family, or trying to sneak off to the golf course.

Nari Lee
Pilates Instructor

Nari Lee is a highly skilled and dedicated Pilates instructor based in Sydney. With a Bachelor of Business Management and a Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction, she combines a solid understanding of both business and health to deliver exceptional client experiences. Since 2022, Nari has been working as the Head Instructor at a Pilates studio, where she leads group classes and designs personalized programs tailored to individual needs.
Her expertise includes working with clients facing a range of physical conditions such as scoliosis, pregnancy, postnatal recovery, and disc bulges. She specializes in rehabilitation-focused Pilates, using posture analysis and muscle testing to develop programs that support injury prevention and recovery. Nari conducts private, semi-private, and group sessions, ensuring each participant receives targeted guidance and care.
With a holistic approach that emphasizes flexibility, mobility, and posture correction, Nari is committed to helping her clients achieve lasting improvements in their health. She creates a supportive and empowering environment where individuals feel encouraged to take control of their well-being and reach their personal fitness goals.

Chloe McLachlan
Pilates Instructor
Chloe is a dedicated Pilates Instructor based on Sydney's North Shore, certified in Mat, Reformer and Studio Pilates through Polestar Pilates. With a background in elite sport and a personal journey with scoliosis, she brings a holistic, rehabilitation-focussed approach to movement.
She specializes in private, Semi-private and Group sessions aiming to improve posture, mobility, strength and overall wellbeing.
Currently studying a Bachelor of Nursing at UTS, Chloe incorporates her knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology into personalized, goal-orientated sessions that support safe and effective movement.
REMEDIAL MASSAGE

Sasha Turner Smith
Remedial Massage Therapist
Sasha is a massage therapist with a passion for Pilates, who grew up locally participating in ballet, sport and martial arts throughout childhood.
Sasha skilfully provides relaxing therapeutic massages, sports remedial and deep tissue treatments.
Goals of each treatment are to:

In addition to massage, Sasha has a mountain bike coaching and rider development business with her husband.
Her weekly habits for personal wellbeing include Pilates, bush walks, ice baths, and ocean dips.
Sasha is available on Mondays, Wednesdays and fortnightly on Saturdays.

Gary Fairhurst
Remedial Massage Therapist
Gary has been practicing massage for over 20 years in both the United Kingdom and Australia. He holds diplomas in Sports Therapy and Sport Injury Massage and also has a certificate in advanced Remedial Massage.
Gary’s preferred massage style is deep tissue work and sports injuries. He is a professional member of Massage & Myotherapy Australia. Gary is the official massage therapist for the Sun Herald City to Surf. Outside of massage his love is football, especially Liverpool FC. Gary is married and has two beautiful daughters, who both share his passion for football.
Gary is available on Thursdays and Fridays.

ADMIN TEAM

Ilani Roder
Admin
Ilani grew up locally on the North Shore and is currently studying Bachelor of Psychology, and is passionate about all things related to wellbeing.
Having started dance at young age, Ilani has extensive experience in everything from ballet, to tap, to hip hop. Ilani is currently continuing her passion for dance as a member of a dance team that meets fortnightly and performs in an annual showcase with over 500 other performers. She has a passion for languages and travel, and is currently learning Spanish.
Ilani has excellent administration, organisational, and interpersonal skills, and her professional approach to frontline customer service plays a vital role in ensuring that all our clients at Physio Room have a positive experience.

Eve Klammer

Eve grew up locally and is currently in her fourth year of a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication/Bachelor of International Studies at the University of Technology Sydney.
She has previously worked in customer service and privately tutored local high school students. These previous experiences show in her helpful and friendly communication towards Physio Room clients. Eve is currently learning German at university, hoping to become fluent and complete an exchange semester in Germany.
At university, she enjoys web design, UX/UI design and graphic narrative design. Outside of work and university, Eve's hobbies including trying new eateries, doing crafts, and watching her favourite show, Grey's Anatomy!

Ruby Klammer

Ruby is currently studying a Bachelor of Communications in Writing and Publishing and Bachelor of International Studies at the University of Technology Sydney.
She has previously worked in customer service roles, enabling her to assist our clients in an open and warm manner. Alongside working at Physio Room, she privately tutors high school students.
Ruby loves socialising with her friends, reading and all things wellness. At university, she hopes to expand on her ability to connect with and help others through language, whether that be in the form of literature or another country's native tongue. She has a particular interest in fiction and lifewriting, and intends to improve her fluency in French.

Sophia Vincent

Sophia is currently in her first year of university, studying a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication/Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation at the University of Technology Sydney.
Having worked in customer service roles previously, she has exceptional interpersonal skills that assist in creating a warm and comfortable environment at Physio Room.
Sophia has a great interested in graphic design and photography, having been selected to complete the National Art School's "HSC Intensive Studio Practice" whilst in Year 11. She also has a love of languages, studying both Spanish and Korean throughout high school. Sophia hopes to continue building on these skills whilst at university.
